If money is an issue, the Fenix 6 is still an awesome watch. It is still getting meaningful updates, and nothing regarding it got worse since the 7 appeared. Judging by the fate of the 5 and even older models, this will be the case for years to come. If at all possible, get a Pro or Sapphire.
